Last night, the historic Brooklyn Paramount Theater became a gathering place for artists, advocates, and supporters who came together for the Children in Conflict Show, a benefit concert presented by Children in Conflict and hosted by John Oliver. The evening brought Common, Natasha Bedingfield, Anthony Ramos, and Mon Rovîa to the stage, aligning music with purpose in a way that embodied the heart of the event.
The night helped raise essential funds for Children in Conflict’s global programs, which provide education, mental-health support, and safe spaces for children living through war and displacement. It also reaffirmed the organization’s call to the creative community—artists, agents, managers, and industry partners—to stand with children whose lives have been uprooted by conflict and instability.
“The Children in Conflict Show was epic,” said Bedingfield. “Music has this way of moving people physically and emotionally. In this case, it’s a way of getting people to move beyond just worrying about a very real issue and to literally be moved to help. Children are experiencing things no child should ever face. I was grateful to stand on that stage and share in something that felt honest and human.”
“Tonight proved just how powerful this community can be,” said Dr. Kim McCall, Executive Director, Children in Conflict. “When artists use their craft to champion children living through war, it creates real momentum and real hope. We’re so grateful to everyone who showed up and lent their voice – it mattered.”
More than a one-night gathering, the Children in Conflict Show continued the organization’s deepening partnership with the creative industry – an open invitation to artists, storytellers, and cultural leaders to use their influence in service of children whose futures hang in the balance. The event demonstrated how the arts can transform awareness into action, and action into impact.
