Today at Taps Brewhouse, Niagara Jazz Festival announced the exciting lineup of events for their 12th summer season. Taking place on June 14, 20-22, 27-29, 2025, the Niagara Region will be filled with the incredible sounds of jazz, world and soul music. From parks and wineries to distilleries, breweries and beyond, the festival will highlight the rich variety of unique experiences the Niagara Region has to offer.”
To ramp up for the summer festival, we will be presenting our 1st annual Big Easy 2nd Line Celebration at Downtown Niagara Falls on Queen Street. This will take place on Saturday, June 14th and will feature Turbo Street Funk, the Dragon Ritual Drummers.
This year our opening kick-off event sees the return of our Summer Mardi Gras. This signature event will take place on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Oakes Garden Theatre in Niagara Falls, in partnership with The Niagara Parks Commission. The show will feature Canadian jazz artists Red Rot Ramble and the Heavyweights Brass Band. The occasion will also feature surprise special guests from New Orleans. Against the stunning backdrop of Niagara Falls, the traditional music from New Orleans, Louisiana, affectionately known as the Crescent City, will echo stories of resilience; it will be a magical blend of history, music, and nature.
Our traditional Late-Night Music Jam will take place later in the evening of June 20 at Taps Brewhouse in Niagara Falls. A great place for any musician to jump in and jam with the Niagara Jazz Festival house trio.
On the afternoon of Saturday, June 21st, we bring the power to the people with a couple of Pop-Up Jazz events at prime locations across the Niagara Region. Grab a map and see if you can hit them all in the afternoon! Artists and locations will be announced shortly.
Later that evening, on June 21st, we will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic Canadian brass and vocal band The Shuffle Demons. Sax in the City will take place at The Exchange Cultural Hub and Market in Niagara Falls. As The Shuffle Demons mark their incredible 40th anniversary, you can expect an electrifying evening packed with wild energy, killer grooves, and plenty of musical surprises!
Returning this season is our popular Jazz Picnic on Sunday, June 22nd. This time we are presenting at a new location, the St George Serbian Orthodox Church Pavillion in Niagara Falls. Our featured performers are The Sonny Balcones who will bring their vintage sound to this wonderful afternoon of jazz. Ticket prices include a gourmet picnic lunch from The Pie Guys Bakery & Café. A (cash-bar) wine and brew garden will also be on-site. Free dance lessons and dance partners with Niagara Lindy Hop will make for a great, swingin’, outdoor cultural experience, Jazz Picnic is one of our fan favourites.
Friday, June 27th will present Soul Jazz in the Vineyard at Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery with Quincy Bullen Band featuring Quisha Wint on vocals. This signature event is a sell-out every year – grab your tickets early! Short Hills Kitchen is on-site for your dining pleasure, and of course, there will be wine! This evening will be magical with eclectic jazz, R&B and soul fusion bringing energy to a vibrant and lush vineyard.
On Saturday, June 28th we introduce a new event at Forty Creek Distillery in Grimsby. Distill & Chill BBQ brings you the amazing Joel Parisien and his band—come relax, and enjoy a great BBQ spread made available by Timmerman and Billard, and soak in the unique vibes of the distillery!
And finally, Music in the Park on Sunday, June 29th, sponsored by OLG, BCM Insurance, Cardinal KIA and Minken Employment Lawyers, brings the return of our annual FREE community event. Programmed for the jazz-curious music lover, new generation jazz fans, world music lovers, and those who love to groove.
This season we have partnered for the second time with the City of Thorold, who are celebrating their 50thanniversary, and recognized as the fastest growing city in Niagara. Together we bring the vibe to Battle of Beaverdams Park. This day-long event features two music stages filled with jazz and world music artists, an artisan marketplace, a Kids Zone, food trucks, beverage vendors and more!
Niagara Jazz Festival is proud to announce the return of their charitable partnership with MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity associated with CARAS/The JUNO Awards, which will extend the impact of the festival and support the next generation of musicians. Niagara Jazz Festival will be donating $1 per ticket sold this summer in support of MusiCounts.
