Soulful, powerhouse singer Chris Blue is making the most wonderful time of the year even more joyous with a two-song seasonal debut, Celebrate Christmas, out today on Gaither Music. This digital Christmas “twofer” features a soaring and soulful rendition of the popular holiday hit “Celebrate Me Home” and a silky, R&B-tinged reimagining of “The Christmas Song.” (Stream the singles here.) Enjoy the sentimental lyric video for “Celebrate Me Home,” also available on streaming platforms today.
“It’s been a joyous year for me, and I wanted to celebrate Christmas with everyone this season by singing two of my favorite holiday songs,” said Blue, winner of NBC’s The Voice. “It’s my gift to all those who have supported me and my music this year. I feel very blessed!”
This multi-track single comes on the heels of Blue’s chart-topping Gospel album, Foundations: The Hymns of My Heart, released this past June. The album reached #1 on the Gospel Album Chart, #2 on the Top Christian/Gospel Albums Chart and #158 on the Top Album Sales Chart across all music genres the week of its release. Since then, Blue has made appearances on television shows, performed the national anthem for the U.S. Diving Qualifying Olympics in his hometown, released a concert DVD and appeared in his own television special.
Blue’s reading of Kenny Loggins’ evergreen “Celebrate Me Home” opens as a tender, R&B ballad before it swells to an outpouring of seasonal euphoria with Blue’s dynamic vocals soaring skyward. His stunning take on “The Christmas Song” blooms from its elegant piano and voice opening to the walk-on-clouds soulfulness of a modern R&B-flavored pop track.
The Celebrate Christmas EP will be featured on the Gaither Music TV YouTube channel (which has over 3.7 billion life-to-date views and hosts more than 3.5 million subscribers). Songs from it can be heard on Gaither playlists, including Gaither–The Ultimate Christmas playlist; on Gaither Radio on Pandora’s Christmas Spirit and on Bill Gaither’s enLighten on SiriusXM (channel 150) through the Christmas season.
Blue was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. He is a man of deep faith who got his start singing in church when he was three and was ordained by the age of 12. Blue would go on to become a worship leader. He came to national prominence as a fan-favorite and the winner of NBC’s Season 12 of “The Voice” back in 2017.
