Accountant Vacancy: Montserrat Utilities Ltd

Montserrat Utilities Limited is seeking to recruit an Accountant to join its supervisory management team. 

Requirements

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • planning and managing the company’s accounting system; ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial data and reporting;
  • preparing monthly and annual financial statements, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements;
  • preparing and monitoring budgets to control expenses, managing cash flow, and maintaining financial accounts; 
  • supervising the company’s accounting and bookkeeping activities and providing advice to the Financial Controller on financial matters.

Candidate should possess:

  • A first degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or a related discipline 
  • A professional accounting designation e.g. ACCA, CPA with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Accounting in a supervisory capacity.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Proficiency in accounting systems e.g. QuickBooks 
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accounting practices, Income Tax and Social Security regulations.
  • Excellent accounting skills, strong analytical abilities, and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and supervisory management skills.

Compensation and Benefits: 

Pay package will be negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Term of Engagement: Contractual 

Salary and Allowances are subject to statutory deductions as applicable under the laws of Montserrat.
