One Caribbean Canada Launches the 2025 Media Awards: Honouring Excellence in Canadian-Caribbean Storytelling

One Caribbean Canada is proud to announce the launch of the 2025 One Caribbean Canada Media Awards, an exciting new initiative recognizing outstanding Canadian journalism and storytelling that highlights the Caribbean region. Designed to honour excellence across traditional and digital platforms, the awards celebrate impactful reporting and feature writing that reflect the richness, diversity, and complexity of the Caribbean experience.

Submissions open on January 6, 2025, and will remain open until January 5, 2026, giving Canadian journalists, bloggers, broadcasters, and creators ample time to submit their best work published within the 2025 calendar year.

The Media Awards will feature five categories:

  1. Consumer Newspaper/Magazine – Best feature article in a Canadian consumer newspaper or magazine (print)
  2. Trade Publication – Best feature in a Canadian trade publication (print or digital)
  3. Online Publication – Best feature in a digital-only publication
  4. Broadcast Media – Best feature in broadcast (TV, radio, or podcast)
  5. Social Media – Best feature in social media coverage or blog post

The One Caribbean Canada Media Awards will be presented in the Spring of 2026 (date and venue to be announced), where finalists will be honoured and winners revealed.
