Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons on Montserrat for the post of Driver within the Public Works Department in the Ministry of Communication, Works, Labour and Energy.



To collect and deliver all mails and other consignments for all units under the Ministry of Communications, Works, Labour and Energy and to assist with simple office duties and other related tasks as assigned.



  • To collect and deliver mails to the Human Resource Department and the Post Office twice daily. 
  • To hand deliver mails and get the Delivery Books signed, as required.
  • To collect items on local purchase orders from suppliers and deliver to appropriate Units.
  • To collect and deliver items for the Plant Distribution Officer as required.
  • To assist with office attendant duties to include photocopying, binding and related duties as assigned.
  • To carry out tasks as instructed as it relates to the Traffic Department.
  • To keep the Log Book updated with information relating to trips and duties after securing the signature of the engaging Senior Officer.
  • To transport road workers as necessary and perform any other duties as assigned by Senior Officers within the Ministry.



Applicant should have:

  • Completed Secondary School Education
  • Experience in driving vehicles and a valid driver’s license
  • Good customer care and teamwork skills.
  • Good Model driving skills
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.




Salary is at R39 - R32, that is EC$27,396 – EC$36,120 per annum (Taxable)



The successful applicant will be engaged on a permanent basis.
