Today I’m shocked. My dog, Gosh! My best friend
Guarded my house, protected my children to the end
We go hunting retrieve anything I ask him to catch
Entertain me with antics all I have to do is to watch
Daily entering the house from a hard days work
His greetings and affection gave my day a perk
Stole my wretched heart, kept me on his reel
Never knew what revelation would unveil
How could a bond like this have a crease
It took a bitch to unwind our friendship with ease

We were buddies on our way to the mountain side
Passing a fence she stood behind his eyes got wide
Our bond was strong he looked back a few times
Her pheromones had him, her scent he finds
We started on a rabbit hunt he started out full stride
Suddenly! he took an about turn he lost his pride
Eyes of the bitch, or what did karma subliminally said?
In dog language captivated his masculine dog head
Call of the wild was beyond my human comprehension
Communication was ultra on a different dimension

He left me on the mountain and started a fast trot
Down the hill as karma called moving with all he’s got
I knew where he was going the message was sent
‘Man is like dog’ now I knew what grandma meant
The hunt ended the look of shame exposed unblocked
There behind the fence penis inserted, turned, and locked
That feeling of want was satisfied I could not deny
Later he came home head bent I knew why.
Would I do that to a friend? was my internal question
Depends - thirst, like, want, time. There is a lot to this equation
