It has been 20 years since his last visit but global reggae superstar, Shabba Ranks, is set to return to Japan for a one off performance in celebration of Mighty Crown's 20th Anniversary edition of Yokohama Reggae SAI.

The return of Shabba to Japan is apparently creating a huge buzz amongst his still loyal fans. Masta Simon, co-founder of Mighty Crown, recently speaking about the 20 the anniversary celebrations stated, "we have been listening to Shabba Ranks songs for years. Shabba is by all means an icon and a very important artist to sound systems and selectors'.. he is still going strong today and we had to have him on our show!"

Shabba is enjoying massive airplay presently with the success of his new single "None ah Dem". The artiste has a wealth of hit songs to his name dating back to the nineties. Japanese fans will be showing him immense love when he touches down on their shores. I can't wait to perform with Shabba because I know it will be incredible," says Mighty Crown co-founder Sami T.

Shabba has been active over the year doing selective performances. He recently took part in the "Reggae 4 Japan" benefit concert in New York which will further endear him to his Japanese fans.

Garfield "Chin" Bourne of Irish and Chin had nothing but glowing words for Shabba. "I have developed a really good personal and business relationship with Shabba, he is a pleasure to work with and one of the few artists that tries to preserve the true essence of Dancehall culture, said Bourne.

This will be the first time that Shabba will be performing in Japan with Mighty Crown.
