The Queen of Dancehall, Spice, has received top honours at the Black Women in Media Awards held in Las Vegas, USA, on Wednesday March 30th.  The Awards were held at The House of Blues to a capacity crowd.

Spice is the first Dancehall artist to receive the prestigious Award. Upon receiving her Award, Spice addressed the audience with a heartfelt speech, stating “When we go on social media today, some of the comments are degrading and set up to tear down black women and sometimes it even comes from us in our community.  Standing here today it is a great pleasure to accept this award because as a black woman from the Caribbean, from Jamaica, I started my journey in 1999 and to be standing here today – I’m telling you, I am honoured and humbled.”

Spice and Kelly Price were among the night's honourees.
