Congratulations to Mr Colin Fergus on his appointment to the post of Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports.

His appointment becomes effective Monday March 12th, 2018.

Colin brings to this post a wealth of experience in the public sector, having worked at both the Treasury Department, the Department of Information Technology and E-Government Services (DITES), Public Service Reform Unit (PSRU), Office of the Premier and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Management.

Mr Fergus holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and two (2) Masters Degrees; the first in Management Information Technology and the other in Economics and Finance for Development.

He also possesses two (2) post graduate certificates in Project Planning Appraisal and Management, and another in Finance.

Mr Fergus also has over nineteen (19) nineteen years of experience in the public sector.

Colin is a Lieutenant within the Royal Montserrat Defence Force (RMDF), and the present Commanding Officer of the Montserrat Secondary School (MSS) Cadet Corp.

He thanks his family, friends and co-workers for their support and encouragement over the years, and says that he is looking forward to the new challenge as the Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, towards helping to smooth the path for the coming generation of young people.
