Markus Myrie, the eldest son of the much loved but currently incarcerated reggae artiste, Buju Banton, spoke with MNI Alive recently about his Dad, and also about the waves his record label, Markus Records, is making in the Jamaican music industry.

An interview with Markus would not have been complete without us asking after the well-being of his iconic father, Buju Banton - towards which he responded of Buju's positive spirit despite his current circumstance.

Markus Records, the intended focus of our interview, is the brain child of Markus himself and he produces from the same studios set up by Buju, Gargamel Studios.

Markus is one of the youngest producers in the hotly competitive reggae music industry. He has released his latest production, which is the Mattrass Riddim featuring 11 blowout tracks from the likes of Dancehall King, Beenie Man, Ninja Kid, Aidonia, Tony Matterhorn, Spice, Blak Ryno, Versatile, Ms Ting and Flex.

MNI Alive caught up with Markus recently for a chat. Click on the play button below to listen to our conversation. Also following is a video featuring Ninja Kidd on the same Mattrass Riddim. MNI Alive wishes Markus all the very best as he pursues his dream of producing great music. Play interview below.
