Canadians fed up with the winter need a break. Miami knows it. That’s why the entire month of March is lighting up with four weekends of constant cultural celebrations, including a concert by Ontario’s own Alanis Morissette.
The City of Miami Beach is hosting Miami Beach Live!, a month-long celebration in March 2022 that will bring a mix of live events and performances to the city. Each weekend, Friday-Sunday, events will light up around Lummus Park and the beachfront areas from 10 to 13 streets. It’s all part of a collaboration with the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau to showcase how much Miami truly has to offer.
Friday night movies, Saturday evening concerts, and Sunday dine-arounds with special prix fixe menus at local restaurants give visitors plenty to do while in town. With dance music, pop, world, and Broadway music all thrown into the mix, Miami Beach Live! appeals to multiple audiences, showcasing how Miami is a destination that embraces all visitors.
If it seems too, dare we say, ironic for Canadians to head to Miami to see Alanis the weekend of March 11-13, there are other themes to choose. For example, those looking for a dance party atmosphere will want to book for March 4-6 or Erasure. Broadway lovers will want to head down for the March 25-27 weekend to see Bernadette Peters perform.
We want to get this event in front of Canadians looking to escape this winter, to help them realize that a trip to Miami is more than just a beach holiday – though that’s certainly part of it! With four weekends of diverse events to choose from, the bigger challenge will be how to choose just one.
