WASHINGTON – Wade Henderson, interim president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights released the following statement in response to immigration executive actions signed by President Joe Biden today:

“With these three important executive actions, President Biden is building on the orders he signed on his first day in office to root out Trump’s bigoted policies. While we applaud these actions, it is critical that the Biden-Harris administration take further steps to ensure our immigration system is equitable and safe, especially for Black immigrants who are disproportionately targeted by both the criminal justice and immigration detention systems.”
