Beertown Continues To Build Presence in the GTA With New Location in Etobicoke

After the wildly successful debut of Charcoal Group’s, Beertown Public House, in the downtown core of Toronto, the team is continuing to sow their wild barley in the surrounding areas of the GTA. On November 25^th, the Charcoal Group cut the ribbon on their most recent Beertown on Islington Road in the former Artisano Bakery Café location.

“We’re really excited to open our doors in Etobicoke and expand our presence in the GTA,” says Jody Palubiski, partner, Charcoal Group. “Several members of the Charcoal team have deep roots in the area so there is definitely some special meaning for us here.  We loved the location, and we loved the building.  We had a lot of fun pushing many Beertown design elements forward.”

Beertown Etobicoke is the ninth restaurant under Charcoal Group’s extremely popular Beertown Public House banner. The custom-built space is over 6,000-sq.-ft, which includes the, soon to be, year-round Beergarden. In total it offers seating for 270 Guests and will serve up an extensive craft beer, non-alcoholic, cocktail and wine selection.

This list will include the newest feature from their ‘Collaboration Nation’ program where they work with craft brewers to create bespoke brews. ‘Bone Pine India Pale Ale’, was created by the Beertown team in concert with Sawdust City and Third Moon Brewing Co., and two regular Guests, affectionately known as “Beer Geeks”.

Their diverse menu is well designed to satisfy all diners including an industry leading offering of plant-based and gluten-friendly selections. The Charcoal Group’s Corporate Executive Chef, Todd Clarmo, can be accredited for leading the company's great culinary success. Clarmo has acted as the driving force of creativity and innovation within some of Toronto's most renowned restaurants for more than two decades.  “We like to think of our menu as the ultimate ‘flexitarian’ offering meaning that there is truly something for everyone and as a result we are a great destination for your group events – whether business or friends,” says Palubiski.

Beertown — with its durable ‘modern beer bar’ concept was born out of many ‘research trips’ to the NYC boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn just after the 2009 recession. It’s no surprise with the scratch-made cuisine, and by riding the wave of craft-beer popularity, it has not only survived the turbulence of the pandemic; but thrived.
