29 pairs competed over the weekend at the Digicel International Pairs Antigua at the Cedar Valley Golf course and this year's winners Zorol Barthley and Tedson Weatherill will join Neville Mohammed and Fabien Le Foon of Trinidad and Tobago at the prestigious International Pairs World Finals at Machrihanish Dunes, Scotland in October.

Only two points separated the top five pairs and a count back of the last nine holes was needed to separate Dougie O'Brien/ Avery Jonas (2nd), Nigel Benjamin/ Dion Messiah (3rd) and Ralph Francis and Stanley Yang (4th). First timers Kumar Rodney and Eldine Baptiste finished 5th.

Weatherill is thrilled to be going to Scotland "We finished 3rd last year and despite our hectic work schedule we were able to come out on top. This will be my first trip to Scotland and I am really looking forward to the challenge."'

Barthley has attended the International Pairs World Finals; however, this will be the first time that he will be representing Antigua and Barbuda: "I really enjoy organising this event and it was real hard for the first three years to watch the others compete and decided in 2012 to enter the competition. There is good camaraderie amongst the golfers and I am very honoured to be representing our country."'

Barthley thanked the title sponsors Digicel who came onboard just before the Antigua qualifiers as well as Virgin Atlantic, Colombian Emeralds International, and local companies for their support: "This tournament keeps growing every year and I am very grateful for the support of the business community who donate prizes and products that enhance the golfers' experience."'

Sandals Resorts; Super Power; Cool & Smooth; Ayouche; Nail Star; Island Provision; Hertz; Paradiso Water; Frank Wall; Best Cellars; Will City; Observer Group; American University Antigua; Flo's Perfumery; Food Brokerage Services; PIC Insurance; Wadadli Events; Anjo Insurance; Hyandai: Hospitality Services and Hendersons all donated prizes and products. Photogenisis, Buba's Hideaway and Yum Yum also contributed to this year's event.

Barthley and Weatherill will leave for the UK on October and will participate in the Cornish Piskeys hosted by the Royal Air Force Golf Association in Cornwall before arriving in Scotland for the International Pairs World Finals.
