BACKGROUND:
The Antigua and Barbuda Association of Toronto Scholarship was created, thanks to the vision and initiative of the late Kenroy Stevens.

PURPOSE:
• To support creativity, leadership and volunteerism among Antiguans and Barbudans living in the Greater Toronto Area;
• To provide financial assistance to those qualified and pursuing a diploma and/or first degree in any discipline;
• To promote and enhance the Quality of Life of those who have chosen to pursue a higher level of education.

ELIGIBILITY:
• A first year, or continuing student currently enrolled in, and attending the Fall program of an accredited College or University, pursuing a first Degree, Diploma or Certificate;

• Antiguan/Barbudan Citizen born in Antigua or Barbuda; or Antiguan or Barbudan by naturalization; or having familial or significant links; or a person born in Canada of Antiguan or Barbudan parents;

• 17 to 25 years of age as of November 1 of the year of the Scholarship.

VALUE:
The value of each Award is $500.00 CAD. There will be two Awards in 2016.

PAYMENT:
The Award(s) will be paid by cheque at the annual Independence Banquet hosted by the Antigua and Barbuda Association of Toronto, on November 5, 2016. Application deadline is October 3, 2016. Successful candidate(s) will be notified by October 15, 2016, and invited to attend the Event.
