The Government of Montserrat is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Communication Liaison Officer, within the Ministry of Education, Government of Montserrat.


  • Provide English/Spanish or English/Creole translation service among students and between students and teachers and between teachers and parents;
  • Liaise with parents from within the Spanish/Creole community to build the partnership with the school;
  • Intervene where language and cultural differences may threaten the good order and discipline of the school;
  • Encourage and support full integration of Spanish/Creole speaking sectors of the population into the full life and culture of the school
  • Investigate persistent absences of students from within the Spanish/Creole community and report causes to the management of the school.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for all students but especially to the students of the Spanish/Creole community


The applicant should:-

  • Be fluent in Spanish or Creole dialects and English
  • Have good communication skills (written and verbal), in both English and in Spanish/Creole
  • Have adequate ICT skills
  • Work well as a part of a team
  • Be innovative and creative
  • Be friendly and approachable
  • Love children and have a caring attitude for their welfare
  • Work well under stress and not be easily rattled
  • Have the ability to work effectively with a diversity of individuals and groups 


Appointment will be made on a Permanent and Pensionable basis.

Basic Salary

R28- R22: XCD $41,760.00 - $50,976.00 / Year


 21 paid vacation days annually
