Vybz Kartel has been charged with murder. The Jamaican dancehall deejay, whose legal name is Adidja Palmer, was late last evening charged by the Major Investigation Taskforce (MIT) with murder, illegal possession of firearm and conspiracy to murder.
Earlier this week, MNI Alive reported that Kartel was arrested for marijuana possession but Police were also questioning him about the discovery of a dead body in a house in St Catherine, Jamaica, that is allegedly owned by him.
According to confirmed reports, the dead body in question was that of 27-year-old, Barrington Bossie' Burton, a businessman and promoter in Jamaica. It is alleged that Kartel was involved in the murder of Bossie while he was with friends, along Walkers Avenue in Gregory Park.
Kartel was charged following questioning by Police, with his lawyers present.
The preliminary hearing is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the Half Way Tree Resident Magistrate's Court.
