It looks set to be the end of another era in comedy, as top American comedian, Steve Harvey, has shocked everyone recently with the announcement of his retirement from stand up comedy in 2012.

Harvey made the announcement on his syndicated radio show, The Steve Harvey Show; where he let his listeners know that his last performance will be at the 2012 Hoodie Awards. Harvey has become a staple on the stand up comedy scene; also, his hosting of popular TV game show, Family Feud, has received very good reviews.

Harvey made his announcement of retiring after reading a letter on air that questioned him as to whether he would be continuing his syndicated radio show; towards which he responded, This is my Jamaican background. I don't quit no job. No, sir. That's not me.
