This is not for greed but want and assurance
A people more holier than thou in defiance
Ninety-eight percent are of solid Christian belief
Celebrate St. Patrick’s for lost souls they grief
Resurrection after a hurricane and a volcano
Reunion patrons arriving reasosn they wanted to know

Alas, the population increases for this cultural fete
One week of cultural pilgrimage they lost the onset
Thoughts of slaves hanging for starting an uprising
Foiled, freedom, duty, unselfish death, so grimacing
One week in the middle of Lenten season we celebrate
Not being thankful culturally, but sinfully we jubilate

As if we spit in our hands and smack God in the face
How dare you take our land and deliver us this place
You sent us Hugo, we still rebel, so you send volcano
Today we jubilate sinfully in lent so as to let you know
Who is the cultural guard, these immoralities can’t stop
Maybe it’s the tone of the fete a new carnival jump up

Lost is the reason for this well planned uprising
Like house slaves we tease the planners for losing
Instead of idolizing, we whine on their gravestones
Brainwashed, for we celebrate in nationalistic tones
Financially packed entertainment but culturally lost
Are we moving blindfolded in an aesthetic past

Remember those black bodies hanging from the trees
Look in your mirror and say ‘that rebellion was for me’
Hidden, value of Patriotism is more than silver or gold
Power transferred the new slave master you are sold
Minister of culture you are at the helm - we are drifting
Navigate, before this land blasphemously starts sinking
