Her stars were afire
Dazzling against a dark blue sky
In his world, walking a high tight wire
Splitting days to make good evenings go by
A life apart, but lustfully together, life was a liar
It was complicated for affection and they knew why
Emotions contaminated like a polluted tasty mire
To get together instinctively, sentiments raved high

Promiscuity has one more enemy,
Even washing all your parts - sterilize, wear a mask
An added condom won’t set you free
For COVID-19 resistance by distance is a task
Upon contact lust won’t let them be
Cuddling, swapping body fluids - booty call a blast
Run away to be together in a world of glee
Together openly caring, hoping this won’t be the last

A trip to Italy, an incognito was the decision
Streets were empty but romance was still everywhere
Accomplished, limited, but affection was on a mission
Just being carefree, sensually, erotically without fear
Vacation ended, beginning of complication
Came home separately, then a fever, nothing was clear
Both were sick, medics want truth not confusion
COVID-19 captured, destroyed lives, truth in despair
