Thirty one year old Damian Rzeszowski stabbed six people, including his wife and their two children, in a crazed knife attack after discovering she was having an affair, a court heard earlier this week.
During a family barbecue, Damian grabbed two 12-inch kitchen knives and attacked his 56 year old father-in-law while he was watching TV in his bedroom.
The madness continued as Rzeszowski then went into the lounge and repeatedly stabbed his two-year-old son, who was playing with toy cars.
According to police reports, he then attacked his daughter and her friend, who were both five, as they drew paintings in the family home in Jersey.
The madman then stabbed Julia's mother before chasing his wife Izabela and attacking her. Reports indicate that at one point Izabela managed to escape out of the front door, but Rzeszowski caught up with her and stabbed her in the street in front of the neighbours!
He then went back into the house and continued to attack some of his injured victims before turning the knife on himself. Medical staff upon arrival at the scene were unable to save any of the six victims.
Damian suffered a punctured lung, and pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility but he denies murder.
During the opening day of his trial at the Royal Court in St Helier, Jersey, it emerged Rzeszowski had carried out the attacks in August last year because he could not face the prospect of his marriage failing. A month earlier his wife admitted to sleeping with another man.
