Exclusive Interview With De Bear, Reigning Leeward Islands And Antigua Calypso Monarch

Keithroy 'De Bear' Morson reigns currently as the Leeward Islands Calypso Monarch, a competition he recently won in Anguilla. 'De Bear' also reigns as the 2012 Calypso Monarch of Antigua and Barbuda. Both these crowns have placed 'De Bear' as one of the Caribbean's elite calypsonians and certainly, there is a debate to be had towards him being the most accomplished calypsonian from Montserrat on the regional scene.

‘De Bear' is the holder of 10 crowns, including his previous Leewards title in 2007.

MNI Alive caught up with 'De Bear' for a conversation on his recent victories and also we spoke about the perceived insult he received earlier in the week from a local Montserrat calypsonian, and his progress so far with his music school on Montserrat.
