Having died last month from what a Los Angeles Coroner ruled as accidental drowning, new details are emerging that drug paraphernalia was allegedly discovered in the Beverly Hilton hotel room Whitney Houston died in.
Popular celebrity news website, TMZ is reporting that police found a “spoon with a white crystal-like substance on it” and a “white powdery substance. The substances were allegedly later tested and found to be cocaine.
The Coroner's report on Whitney's death states it specifically as, "A spoon with a white crystal-like substance on it and a "white powdery substance" -- which we know was later tested and determined to be cocaine -- was found in the hotel room where Whitney Houston died."
The report further goes on to state, "Located on the south portion of the counter was a small spoon with a white crystal-like substance in it and a rolled up piece of white paper, along with other miscellaneous items."
"Located in the top drawer, in the north side of the counter were remnants of a white powdery substance, and a portable mirror on a base." Officials found more white powder on the base of the mirror according to the report.
The Los Angeles Coroner who examined Houston after her death also reported that heart disease, coupled with cocaine use was also a contributing factor in Whitney's death. His report also confirmed that the singer had traces of marijuana, as well as prescription drugs including Xanax (anxiety medication), Flexeril (muscle relaxer) and Benadryl (allergy medication) in her system.
