REDjet To Begin Jamaica Flights
Category: Jamaica Created on Saturday, 17 September 2011 08:42
REDjet will begin flying to Jamaica from Barbados and Trinidad in November.
Flights on these routes will be operated twice weekly.
After much controversy and a political war of words between Barbados and Jamaica, the news announcing the start of ticket sales comes as a welcomed addition to regional travel.
Chairman and CEO of REDjet, Ian Burns, claims there is an “elitist” mindset which is holding back the expansion of travel that puts the consumer first in the Caribbean. Burns also said that the airline is expected to increase its fleet numbers from 2 to 5, with the first aircraft coming on stream in December.
Tickets for the Barbados route began selling on Friday 16th.
