Murder-Suicide Of Antiguan Couple In St Thomas, USVI

crime scene tapeST THOMAS, US Virgin Islands – The apparent murder-suicide of an Antiguan couple living in St Thomas has left relatives grieving and questions unanswered.

George Erskine and his wife Gadene were found dead in the Cassi Hill area of St Thomas on Monday.

Erskine, 67, who was originally from Johnsons Point in Antigua, left his homeland on Sunday after a week-long vacation with his family. On rejoining his wife, a former resident of Urlings Village, Antigua, something went tragically wrong.

Erskine was reportedly involved in a dispute with his wife of some six years, who allegedly stabbed him to death and then ingested a toxic substance.

According to reports, Erskine was found motionless in a grassy area a little more than 1,000 feet from his residence. His wife was found unresponsive in a bathroom inside the home. Police said she appeared to be foaming at the mouth.

The victims were taken to the Roy L. Schneider Regional Medical Centre morgue where autopsies were performed on Tuesday.

Investigations are said to be ongoing with St Thomas police appealing for anyone with further information to contact them or call Crime Stoppers.

George Erskine was a father of three and also a grandfather. His wife also had three children.
