A Caribbean essence has been added to the 2012 "Essence Music Festival" with the addition of songstress Nefatari. The festival that celebrates African-American music and culture is taking place over the weekend in New Orleans and features a line up of some of the biggest name in Hip Hop and R&B, from Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin to legendary Chaka Khan, D'Angelo, Mary J Blige, Estelle and many more

The 4 days festival which attracts hundreds of thousands of people will receive a dose of Jamaica with the addition of Nefatari who will grace the stage at the "New & Next" concert on Thursday, July 5 in the Superdome. The New & Next Stage will feature live performances by the hottest new artists, including Diggy Simmons, the OMG Girlz and many more

Nefetari just performed this past weekend in Queen, NY at the "Groovin In The Park" concert which featured Grammy winners Boyz 11 Men and R&B legend Gladys Knight.
